CAFE VASQUEZ

Cafe Vasquez specializes and deals only in Direct trade coffee located in San Francisco, Peru

Owned by Peruvian native, Erci Vasquez and her husband – Café Vasquez has the unique opportunity which allows us to buy the green coffee directly from the farmers in northern Peru. We are then able to warehouse, process and prepare the green coffee beans for export using our facility in San Francisco in northern Peru.

Direct trade allows the farmers to receive a much higher price as it removes the 'middle men' that are generally needed to get the coffee to foreign buyers.

Farmers Coffee Culture Fundraising

Right now, most of the farmers in the region of northern Peru don't have the resources to sell their coffee beans in larger cities for a reasonable price due to transportation and logistical issues and as a result they are getting vastly under paid for their traditionally grown, high quality coffee beans that is grown on family owned farms.

Erci's mission is to change this by providing a way for the farmers to be able to get a much higher price (income) for their coffee yields by providing direct access to the final coffee buyers.

Cafe Vasquez, located in San Francisco, in northern Peru is Erci’s home town which is why it is so close to her heart. Café Vasquez will be buying coffee beans directly from the farming families in Erci's home town and surrounding communities who all have a long history of coffee farming in the beautiful and lush Andes mountains

Teaming Up With Kaapittiaq

We at Cafe Vasquez will be teaming up with Kaapittiaq by facilitating them to direct trade with the Farmers. Kaapittiaq is a new Inuit owned coffee company based in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. Kaapittiaq means "good coffee" in Innuinnaqtun, an Inuit language in western Nunavut.

We believe the partnership will prove to be beneficial for both sides. Kaapittiaq hopes to create a steady funding to support their cultural programs and preserve their Innuinnaqtun language by selling coffee to different people that come up to the north.

In return, farmers in Peru will make more money from their coffee beans which will be great for all families instead of having to sell their crops at a lower price since they don't have the resources to sell their coffee beans in larger cities. Also, profits from the coffee beans will help pay for new cultural centre and programs to help preserve their traditional culture.
